at one time there was a single school (mua) with 2 campuses - nevis and belize. this mua had interconnections with saba - i believe one person was involved with all 3. some shakeout occurred about 2+ years ago. the result: mua belize is now separated from mua nevis. mua nevis is still connected to saba in someway (or so it seems).

anyways as it stands now.. there is no relationship between the two, belize kept its name because of charter issues i believe???.. saba and mua nevis still very much connected.. we even have one graduation ceremony, everyone graduates together at the same time. |

mua belize and nevis...

MUA Belize rec'd its' campus from Nevis... it seemed that Nevis had under its' charter the capability to open up another campus with the assumption that MUA Belize would always go on its' own at some time; SABA, from what I understand, did not have the "US comparable" certification when all all three campuses were together, and the owners of MUA Belize helped to achieve that certification; SABA and Nevis are still tied together (owner is the same unless things have changed that I don't know??); There was no shakeout or anything like that... |

US comparable...

Note: this is what I understood it to be... when explained to me and when I looked it up on the internet; I welcome others to either correct or give more information. Last edited by md90 : 03-30-2006 at 07:31 PM. |

Anyway, I'm not sure what 'US comparable certification' you are referring to because Saba and MUA-Nevis students have never been eligible for Student Loans thru the US government (I'm talking about Federal Stafford loans here). The NCFMEA stopped certifying new schools for Stafford loan eligibility in the Caribbean sometime before Saba even got started. I wish somebody from the MUA-Belize administration would inform us of why they kept the name. |
