    residency and licensing question

If you start at a medical school (say MUA), then after 4th or 5th semester transfer to another school for clinicals(St Matthews or another established school). How does this affect your residency and licensing? You would graduate from last school attended, so can you practice in states that the school is approved in.

    total credentials

not only do all your records follow you, but I know a few years back when researching licensure rules prior to applying for the match, i seemt o recall a couple states that would not license someone who had tra=nsfered from one school to another(even if 1 or both are US med schools).
Also, while applying for fellowships, most fo the programs I applied to stated that if you had attended more then one med school, their letter of rec quota changed from 3 letters, to a letter from every basic science and clinical doc in med school, a likely impossible task even if you only had to get that many letters from one school!

    fyi

I transferred and have not had any problems with doing so. One state in the Northeast states that if you transferred please explain why and VA states you must attending the school you graduate from for at least 2 years.

Therefore, if you do transfer it is best to do it before or after 5 semester.
