Talking Apartment, etc. for Fall 05

Hello all. First of all, I don't intend this to be spam or solicitation. I realize that I'm selling some things, but what I'm really trying to do is help out a student that will be coming to AUC this fall. Hope that means this thread won't get pulled. What I want to do is have someone else take over my place and my stuff when I leave. It will save me a lot of hassle trying to sell it all and will save the incoming student a TON of money not having to buy all the stuff new or having to go find it all.

So what's the deal?

First of all, my apartment is going to be available around August 20'th or so. It is a huge place, great for a husband/wife. It is technically a two bedroom, but because of the layout, is more like a bedroom/office. Really big kitchen/living room. Big porch. Semi-pet friendly (I have a dog but he lives primarily out on the porch when I'm not home). It is right on Simpson bay beach (nice view). The apartment is furnished, but there are some pieces of furniture I have purchased that fit really and that the aparment needs to be comfortably furnished (couch, coffee table, nice desk chair). Those pieces aren't included with the apartment and would need to be purchased seperately. It is $900/mo USD, not including utilities (about $125/mo) and it does have A/C in the living room and bedroom. 10 minute *** drive to school and you won't have to sit in any traffic like you would if you were moving to Pelican Key or any place like that. Also, the landlord is really nice. Cons: Right by the airport, so there is some plane noise, but it usually stops by 7pm and doesn't really start until 11am or so in the morning. There is no hot water, but the cold water here is never really cold. It has never bothered me, and I'm a wuss when it comes to cold water. I've lived here for 2 years. Right when I got to the island.

My Hyundai Atos is going up too (automatic, a/c). $3500 OBO is in great condition and relatively new. It is a good idea to get a really reliable car so that's one less thing you have to be concerned with. I have NEVER had a problem with my Atos. It has an alarm that I put in, new belts/tires. A great all-around car, and easy to park.

My couch (pulls out into a second bed) it is a futon kind of thing made out of bamboo or something. It is really pretty, wish I could take it home with me. Very good shape, only a year old. Goes great in the office.

Caribserve internet connection already set up and ready to go. It has the Ethernet connection so you could set it up for a wireless network in the apartment if one were so inclined (Caribserve is usually USB connection).

Coffee table/two end tables. Nice, wood, like new, match the couch.

Nice soft sheets I bought for the queen size bed in the bedroom. There's like 3 sets.

Lexmark x75 all in one printer/copier/scanner - like new

Cable box (you get HBO and Showtime, all for free) Better than most of the crappy ones sold here, auto-fine tunes the channels.

Other miscellaneous stuff like nice pots/pans, new silverware, dishes, knive sets, general kitchen stuff, general office stuff, general bed/bath stuff.

With the exception of the car, I'd like to sell all of this stuff to whoever wants to move into my apartment. You would be doing us both a HUGE favor and avoiding having to worry about buying a bunch of junk when you get here. Everything is obviously used, but used lightly and I take good care of my stuff.

Couch - $200
Coffee table/end tables - $100
Cable Box - $250 (going rate for one that auto-fine tunes)
Caribserve connection - $250 (includes ethernet connector, already installed in apartment)
Desk Chair - $50

Pots/pans/silverware/knives/dishes - $100
Sheets, towels, bathroom stuff - $75
Lexmark x75 - $100
General office supplies - $25
Not having to run around like crazy to find all this crap while trying to study for anatomy - Priceless

Total for everything I listed (not including apartment or car) - $1,150

Bolded items are pretty much part of the apartment, the other stuff I could sell on my own if you really don't want it.

Interested, PM me and we can talk about prices/move in times.

Also, you'll have to talk to my landlord and get approval to lease the apartment as well (sholdn't be a problem, he's easy to get along with).

I really hope this helps someone out. I wish I would have found a similar opportunity when I moved to the island.

p.s. My apartment is not and will not be listed in the school's housing office. I found it by coming to the island and driving around two months before I moved here.
