AUC!!! - household items, VW Golf, SCUBA equip, phones, computer, etc.!

My wife and I are leaving Sint Maarten on Dec 16th. We have made up some lists of items for sale, which I will upload here, and you can download the ones you are interested in. Oh, and we can do package deals, if anyone's interested.

The car is a 1994 VW Golf. It is blue. It has some body damage in the rear (island drivers ). I can post pics later on my website if anyone would like to see the extent of the damage, but it really isn't bad. It causes the doors to stick slightly. The A/C is ICE COLD!!!! I am not talking about "island air-conditioning" like so many piece of junk Hyundai and Suzuki A/Cs, but real, VW quality! This IS the reason we bought this car (that, and we knew VWs were much, MUCH better cars than 90% of the ones for sale around here!). We are asking $2500. It has recently had new tires ($300 worth) and a new exhaust, so no worrying about the ** tickets island police like to give to students for a "hole in the exhaust".

We also have a pair of cell phones, one is a Motorola Timeport (like a StarTac) flip-phone, one is a Nokia (typical Nokia style, I don't know that model). Both have chargers, and the batteries have been routinely cycled to keep them in good condition. They each will last several days without charging when just on standby. They are currently hooked up with CellularOne's prepaid service, and phone cards are available twice a week when The Mailbox comes to school. I will leave them active, with $5-10 on them, so that you can just pick it up and start using it. Your family will already have your number, you can have a call-back number for home/car shopping, etc. I can't tell you how much this would have helped so many people when they arrived, to have a phone waiting on them, ready to use, even if you arrive on the weekend. If you want to pay the extra, I'll add another phone card on it for you, so you could have another $10 or $20 for those first few days of hectic calling around.

I think the rest is in my lists, so have a ball. This is first come, first served, and only money talks, if you know what I mean! We will accept PayPal, cash on island, or a money order/personal check sent to our bank in the US. Of course, we must wait on personal checks to clear, you understand. We can arrange for items to be picked up after our departure, as we have tons of friends here, even some who will be here over break, so don't worry! Ask around on the AUC forum, and you'll find there are plenty of folks who'll vouch for me.

Ummm

There are no photos up as yet. The documents above are lists of items for sale. I will take some pics of the car tomorrow and post them on my personal website tomorrow.

You can send me a PM via this forum and I will get it, but since my computer sold today, I will no longer have access to my Caribserve e-mail after this week, so I won't bother giving it out.

For now, just PM me here.

the car and stuff

I would just like to say, I was always jealous of *****'s car. LOL. That has to be one of the best "island cars" I'd seen. And the a/c did blast cold.

***** - on the scuba stuff - you should let the folks down at the scuba place know about it. The current scuba class or advanced class students might be interested. Quite a deal for someone.
