Thread: Medical Observerships in NY

We are currently providing observerships in the NYC area for ECFMG certified doctors currently in the application process.
We offer flexible scheduling with periods of anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months.
Students who satisfactorily complete the observership will receive a letter of recommendation from the preceptor in support of their application.
Ideal applicants will have matriculated from medical school, received ECFMG certification and completed Step 1, Step 2CK and Step 2CS and provide transcripts and score reports to verify the above.
The observership will provide some flexiblity to candidates concurrently studying for Step 3.
Candidates will be responsible for tuition that covers preceptorship, administrative fees and malpractice insurance which will be arranged by the clinical site and preceptor. Candidates will also be solely responsible for living expenses.

Participation in the observership in no way provides any guarantees with regards to the candidates competitiveness for residency positions although we do our utmost to provide ancillary support to the applicant in preparing a competitive application.

This programs aims to allow applicants in the application process to take advantage of the gap in clinical experience between matriculation and the commencement of the match process which can adversely reflect on an applicants CV. However, please not that It is not a substitute for highly structured clerkships and research programs but aims to augment those programs while broadening the experience.
