most people do it through an agency.
i did it myself. all of it.
give yourself 3 months to get all the paper work done for immigration and your school.
go to the website get all the paperwork and it is best to call them and make your presence known.

it has a ** md program where u finish your undergrad and unto medicine. you have call them. a lot of my classmates did that.
don't email and wait. you need to proactive and get it down yourself.
i just finished 1st year and i am going to be incoming 2nd year med.

I am also considering attending SWU, and have already been accepted.
What was the first year like? Is it true that the failure rate is high, and that re-sits are not allowed?

    Thanks.

If you, will they prepare you well for step 1? Will they help you obtain green book clinicals which is required to get licensure?

they failed 80 out of the 250 first year student (the most we ever had with 1/3 foreigners)
resits are not allowed. but if you fail the major subject you are going to repeat the year but if you just fail a couple you can move on to the 2nd year and retake those again which is hell.
1st year. you will get different answers from different people. For me since I am very outgoing and active in school life and extracurricular and study very hard. i got the best of both worlds. got good grades and did exciting stuff. you need to make it happen and you have to experience it yourself.

if you want to be a doctor your behavior has to reflect that. if you are undiscipline and disrespectful then you will have a tough time. Stay close with your local students who are very bright but are very introverted and shy to let you know about their talents. don't belittle them they will know and spread it to the world and next thing you know the dean will find out. it is a small world. don't get caught doing stupid pooh pooh as a foreigner. they will find out and will judge you based on your actions and your demeanor. Your personality counts. you have to be liked. don't criticize the religion or abortion. It is best to be humble and act like a true filipino and don't fight the system. don't ask question that are meant to anger teachers. only ask when they give you the chance. don't challenge the doctor specially in class. maybe the doctor don't know or make mistake don't burn his ego. you will surely fail and never make it alive. never cheat. they will not catch you right away but they will remember you and will not let you pass.
find who ever is doing well and likely by the staff in your upperclassmen and befriend him or her and adapt all the qualities of them. you need to adapt.
and smile and act humble. don't be loud and make a commotion unless everybody is doing it and in their own language.

Love the cadaver he or she will make you pass. be respectful. and take showers some foreigners smell like armpit. try to learn the language and be the center of attention sometimes and be humble about it.

Be seen as a teamplayer who is an integral part of the community. don't be a ninja and come and go whenever there are test papers or not get to know your classmates. and don't be selfish. most of the students are financially poorer than you. don't speak ill of Philippines. point the good things and make it a good opportunity to solidify your relationship with them that you are here to fight the same enemies. not become the enemy.

make a good first impression with everybody. don't be jerk. if you are, you will be self limiting. and will make your life a living hell. haha
    ask me more questions

green book. they are working on it. you should call the dean.
step 1. the stuff taught in class will contribute to your overall medical stock knowledge.
do well in class = do well in boards.

However. the style of testing is different. They happen to be more rote memorization to make sure u read the power point or book.
many filipino doctors do well and practice in US.
You have to study it yourself nobody will spoon feed you. so is every institution here. it is good to study while you study for school. but the type of quetions are different.
