re

didn't use his services, but i did have some contact with him in the early phases of my search...from my experience 4 years ago, he really offered nothing for a lot of money. his service was admission, visa service and some vague promises regarding residency and clinicals. sounded shady.

i will reiterate my advice regarding agentsO NOT USE AGENTS! they really don't do anything you cannot do for yourself. if a school relys on agents, you should prob look elsewhere. everything an agent does should be done by the school, at least a reputable school.

good luck.

highly suspicious

I would be VERY VERY WARY of this person. I know nothing about him but transfer to a US school DOES NOT require your paying an outside individual. Go to med school, do very well, then you can possibly tranfer.

So, you can transfer to a US school after attending a caribbean school? What if you take your pre-req's, and first couple of semester in basics is it possible to transfer after that to a US school?

re:

I am not using him anymore. I have heard a lot of negative things about him and his services. So, i decided not to go through him anymore. Thanks for the great advice.

transfers are rare

b/c the attrition rate is so low at US schools (2%)they run at near capacity most of the time so to transfer you basically have to be in the top of your class and start over although i've heard one student who took step 1 and got ortho like numbers and was admitted into 3rd year somewhere. again lots of rumors. the admisions people basically told me if you go to the carib with the intent to tranfer you are in for disappointment b/c it doesn't happen that often. out of 500 people on th rock last sem 1 person transfered to the states but started over and i saw a post on ross that 2 transfered last year. later

Conflict of Interest?

He apparently also serves a "Director of Admissions" for Pecs University Medical School in Hungary.

Check out http://www.pote.hu/englishprogram/EP_IM.htm

Seems like an obvious conflict of interest to me. How can you represent two medical schools?

same way...

that independent insurance agents represent multiple insurance companies....

Seriously, I don't think it's that much of a conflict.
