Universal Empire Institute of Medical Sciences

I wanted to know if anyone has heard of Universal Empire(UEIMS). They have locations in India, Nepal and Duabi. IUHS is supposed to offer its own program through UEIMS, but UEIMS doesn not have any online courses. It is based on the same lines as other Carib schools. You do 2 yrs there and then do clinicals here. I wanted to know if anyone has attended this school or heard about anything relating to it. Any licensing problems? Or any other problems with the faculty?

don't try and reinvent the wheel

if no one has ever heard of them....avoid it. If you can't find corroberating evidence that they exist legitimately...go elsewhere.

Here is a great word of advice:

never attend any school you have yet to visit and met the students and sat in on classes. Do that and you'll be satisfied with wherever you go be it the Carribean, Nepal, England, France, Russia, or Poland...

these posts on one of the other hansons sites are interesting

    IUHS and AAIMG
    by Ex-UniversalEmpire Ex-UniversalEmpire (no login)

Accoring to the American Association of International Medical Graduates, "The following schools were noted by evaluation teams to have multiple, serious deficiencies. AAIMG urges prospective applicants to proceed with caution and to carefully investigate any school listed below in order to arrive a their own conclusions. Applicants are encouraged to read the AAIMG web page section titled, “Words of Wisdom.”

On this list are Windsor University and IUHS....what does this tell you about the whole ** process of being WHO listed? The island of St. Kitts is a scam, and the institutions that are there are no better. IUHS will go down very soon and I will not be suprised if it is banned every state in the US in the next year.

    IUHS and Universal Empire
    by Ex-UniversalEmpire Ex-UniversalEmpire (Login Ex-UniversalEmpire)
I have been attending Universal Empire, an affiliate of IUHS, for the last three weeks now. Let me just say that I wish I had done my research before I came here. Universal Empire has branches in three different countries, and I am in Cochin, India right now. I have decided to leave here and return back to Texas! I cannot believe that I made this decision. IUHS is a scam. They want your money, and once they get it your in trouble. You will not get a good education. Worst of all, I was lied to by the faculty and the OWNERS of the school. Do not let anyone you know attend either Universal Empire or IUHS. Please pass this word along and post it wherever you get a chance. A stay on admissions for Universal Empire has been filed in the Indian High Court. What kind of school has a stay on admissions? The school is the size of my house. The library has three bookshelves. There are like 10 faculty members. School is a load of CRAP!

    WHATS NEW?
by you were told so (no login)
You were warned. All last year-- all this year ---you were warned that anything that is associated with IUHS is SAD........ is BAD! If you go there you are MAD cause you will be HAD!!!

Hard ears wont hear, hard ears will FEEL!

But thanks for telling the world.

Now it is your duty to write USMLE AMA and ALL of the individual Boards. Give them the FULL DETAILS of your sojourn at this "cutting edge school".

It is time for those who have been screwed by IUHS to all write the authorities now.

Universal Empire/IUHS temporarily BANNED in India

Although it may or may not be true, there is a new post today at www.foreign-md.com on their Foreign Medical School forum that alleges that the national newspaper of India, The Hindu, ran a story on October 4, 2003, reporting that the High Court of the Indian State of Kerala has issued an order prohibiting Universal Empire from recruiting more medical or dental students. Universal Empire (UE)'s website says that UE is the parent corporation of IUHS. If the article is true, it seems that UE failed to get properly licensed by the Medical Council of India. While this ruling--if true--would NOT effect IUHS continuing its operations on St. Kitts, West Indies, it does raise questions.

The noted "The Hindu" newspaper report is online at http://www.hindu.com/2003/10/04/stor...0405740400.htm. Note that the 'net suffix is "htm" and not "html". If clicking on this link fails (as it tends to), enter the URL address manually, or just run a Yahoo search for "universal empire" "high court" which is how I found the original newspaper report.

Wasn't the IUHS office somewhere in Florida shut down for failing to be properly licensed there?
