How do we know we are still in the bill if nobody knows where to find it?

Well, I looked at thomas, and it appears as though this vote extended the HEA. Only the changes to the HEA are included in this bill. The grandfather clause was not 'striken' in this bill and that is why it is not possible to find it; ie. it was not changed.

My mind is at ease since the Chronicle reported that the Senate approved a version of the bill that allowed offshore med schools established before '92 to receive federal loans. I know that the house passed that bill, and any changes would have required a revote by the senate, which hasn't happened. We can put this issue to rest for now, although Congress can decide to change it in the future.

Thanks for the information. I hope you are right. I am surprised we haven't heard form our schools by now though if the issue was resolved in our favor.

Which schools are going to be affected by this regulation? I am going to an Australian school and the vast majority of students are locals, will I be affected? This is making me very nervous, my financial aid officer in Australia said she is certifying my Stafford loans, I tried contacting her recently and she has not been answering my emails.

As long as 60% are local.. you wouldn't be affected.

There is a SIMPLE reason US students goto Foriegn school : THEY CANT make it into US schools. Now we can argue the mertis of US School admissionsm etc. But I can tell you all the students I have come in contact with at Foriegn medical school are all f**ed in one manner or the other. Also, I noticed they tend to cheat a lot. Finally, these schools seem to care only about getting your money and education takes a back seat. The instruction SUCKS in the schools I have reviewed!

All except those of us at SMU.
SMU IS THE BEST MEDICAL SCHOOL ON EARTH! MAYBE EVEN IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!

Sorry. I couldn't control myself.
