The little 3 don't deserve the funding any more than SMU.
Youre right but smu didnt even exist when these schools were approved for federal funding.....you want to complain about it complain that your school wasnt founded earlier

Personally, I hope you lose the funding! This way you will fall even further behind SMU!
You dont even comprehend this could have negative effects for your beloved little smu....also it shows your true face.....i have seen the gunners like you fall flat on their face. Whereas students for the most part help each other out, the gunners usually tick off enough people to the point that people dont help them or save them from embarassment like they would someone else.

Congress has concluded business for the year and approved Bush's budget, does anyone know if the the education bill with the removal of the grandfather clause was approved or not?

From the Chronicle:

The senate bill would also:
  • Allow American students attending medical schools in the Caribbean to continue receiving federal financial aid. The original Senate version would have made medical schools ineligible to receive federal student aid if they were located outside the United States and if more than 60 percent of their enrollments were made up of American citizens (The Chronicle, December).

That is an old article and a lot has happened since then. It is Dec 22 now and it has been known that Congress can change everything in one night.
Please keep an eye on them!

Time to temper my excitement, sure, but the House had the grandfather clause originally, remember?

From TODAY'S Chronicle:

However, the measure must now return to the House for a second vote because the Senate made minor changes in the bill before passing it. That vote could come as early as Thursday, if the House returns for voting, or as late as February, if it waits until after the winter recess to take up the bill. Once it gets to him, President Bush is expected to sign the legislation into law.
