    Neurology

    Hello All:

Can one obtain Neurology residency without IM? What I am trying to say is if I was interested in Neurology, do I have to finish three years of IM and then apply as a fellow? How competitive is it for USIMG?

    I wait for your response

    Thank you again

    G

    neurology

Neurology is actually a stand-alone residency program. It does not require completion of an internal medicine residency, but does require a preliminary year, which can be done in internal medicine, surgery, transitional, etc.

It's relatively easy to get as an IMG. Good luck.
