visit the schools

baylorislander,
not trying to offend you in any way but like you said we really need to cut back on the exaggeration, check out your post to see what i mean.
Irene, check out the schools first, personally if i were to decide between both schools only, i would visit them and then make my own judgement.
no offence to anyone. :wink

The school actually begain in 1998. The year 2000 is when the school was WHO listed. We have PGY-3 grads and that would be impossible if we opened in 2000.

Interestingly, Windsor also began a few years before the official listing with WHO in the year 2000.

I should have written "listed with WHO" instead of "began".

MED SCHOOLS

All of them are good; the only thing I can tell you for sure is that I will be going to WINDSOR. Not because some one told me to, but because I found many aspects of the school that will suite me for the period of my studies. Plus USMLE, ohhhh precious USMLE… What are we without them? Exactly, nothing! Going to UK and getting all the clinicals done over there, is not going to do much in terms of getting residency in USA.
If you like the Caribbean life or life in UK, hey you might as well never see what USMLE looks like, why bother comparing schools so much if the schools we are talking about are WHO listed?

Relax people and concentrate on your goal by overcoming the obstacles.

As long as WHO recognizes a school, the only thing is left to do, is to study!
It is not the school that makes a great Dr. , it is the person him/herself that make these things to happen.

Enjoy the summer, schools start soon. I am sure most of us will enjoy the school more!

I know I will!

Just to clarify. If you are talking about st chris, then you are mistaken. All clinicals are done in the US at ACGME rotations. We have rotations in the UK for people who want them, but they are not only not compulsory, they are not even recommended.

need more help

hi,
the schools are pretty much the same to me ,,,Con: except st. christ is 11 semesters in the uk (3 years and over for the premed/md program) and windsor is just 7 semesters. (i will be done faster
pro: I have heard a lot of students bashing windsor, i heard more ppl praisin st.chris
pro: i think i would also enjoy england better than the carribean.
con: st.chris is much more expensive.
p.s does any one know what the campus is like or even if they have a campus or is it just some rented building somewhere.
No one has mentioned so far how each is bad... ( any students go there?) or why I should avoid either one?

There are plenty of kids who go to st. chris. I have sent you a PM, hopefully u read it. You need to go to the St. CHris forum and speak to people there. there are lots of good info there. click this link: http://www.valuemd.com/viewforum.php?f=31
