I read that post 9/11 he left a pro-Taliban message on a computer in an American hospital and was subsequently deported, which serves him right if he really did do that.

**** was a Saba student. I thought he was a nice guy. He had a website with alot of information about carribean medical schools.

He was suppose to finish Saba June 2003, maybe he is not done yet.

Update on **** ****

I likewise heard that he was told to leave a hospital (in Louisiana) after writing some inflammatory comments. However, I believe he was eventually able to finish up his rotations and graduate from Saba. Based on his website I'm sure he's going through the whole Step 3/H1 visa process now, so I doubt he'll be starting residency until 2004. You may be able to reach him on the Network 54 Canadian IMG forum, he used to be quite active there.

Where did you graduate from?

Dr. Sloan,

Youv'e come this far being a first year resident in Internal Medicine.. Congratualations on your success and I wish you many more. I was just wanting to know what medical school did you attend and what could you say about your experience? Have a good weekend.

Brad

My 2 cents

Thanks, Brad. I did my Basic Sciences at UNIBE and then switched to MUA for clinicals. It worked out OK in the end, although I did have a few hassles along the way. Every Caribbean school has its share of problems, so just don't let them get to you and you'll be fine. If you persevere and focus on the end result, you should eventually make it too. All I can really tell you is to check things out carefully ahead of time, so you can try to avoid any major surprises....Good luck!

Steve

I am quite sure he was writing some letters to the editor, of a local newspaper in Houma, LA that were inflammatory in the wake of 9/11.
It was a case of wrong time, wrong ethnicity, and wrong neck of the woods.
The nurses at the hospital refused to work with him, once they found out about it ( I think somebody posted his letter to the editor in their breakroom ) and he was relocated to another site.
I think it was unintentional / dumb/ bad timing but nothing malicious.
He was investigated by the FBI and cleared of any wrongdoing.
Last I heard he was up in Canada trying to complete school

**** was very positve influence for many prospective SUSM students. He contributed to the forums and did give good advise. It was a bad timing for him to express his views though I never read what ever he wrote. Was he not from Hydrabad, India?
