Puerto Rico V.S Carib Med schools??
I was wondering what the differences between Puerto Rico and Carib med schools are?
I know Puerto Rico schools are LCME approved... But, are you an IMG/FMG if you graduated from a school in Puerto Rico? Can you do clinicals in the U.S if you go to school in Puerto Rico? Is it easier to get a top residency going to a school in Puerto Rico? I have always wondered why people choose the carib over puerto rico. Thanks for any help and info!! |

one word
spanish. all med schools in PR teach in spanish. their rotations are in PR,and most residency placements are also in PR. In my class at Ross, besides myself, there were 4 others who spoke spanish. I didnt even think of PR prior, either.
