I've been actively researching schools, and have come across some in Puerto Rico. Are these schools a viable option for US Mainlanders? Are they as competitive as medical schools on the mainland? If anyone knows, please post - thanks so much!

they have a strong bias for peurtoricans... if you are not from peurto rico or don't have family from there, i would say that it would be difficult to get in - but at least apply. don't be surprised if you don't get an interview, but if you apply i would follow up closely wtih it and make some phone calls expressing you interests in the their school. be prepared to answer some questions like, why peurto rico? without offending them (can't get into a mainland school).

510 points I believe they reserve 5(10?) seats per class or something for mainlanders.
Not sure if the classes are taught in spanish or english too.
