Re: CAMC (Caribbean Medical Council Association)
Caribbean Association of Medical Councils - Home
One of the ways to combat states delisting CARICOM Medical schools, is to have a unified Council, similar to LCME / MCC / GMC (unlike CAAM-HP) that upon graduation from CARICM Medical school, the MD, will take the 2 step exams, similar to USMLE, PLAB or LMCC.
So far the CAMC is not very active and FEW of the schools (mostly UWI grads) actually take CAMCs Examinations. However, if the CAMCs exams are to ba mandatory, instead of the USMLEs (as in many of the CARICOM schools, I think the picture would be different.) So, far the CMCA is offered only in Jamaica (UWI):

1. Passing the CMCA, will allow CARICOM MDs to practice in the Caribbeans obtain residency in Caribbean hospitals and finally a license.
2. Reciprocity status with USMLE / PLAB / LMCC / GMC
