Question for a non-science major

I majored in History but took some Anatomy & Microbiology classes in college (Nursing prereqs) but Clep'd the Biology classes and have worked IT for the past 10 years. My question is, should I take the General Biology and Chemistry classes before even considering foreign schools and MCAT? I'm 32, with a family and not getting any younger but have always had a desire to go into medicine and have started to seriously consider an MD after meeting another person who started late.

I would go for starting rather than taking additional courses. I have a non-science major and I think taking biochemistry and microbiology would be helpful courses.

that said, it is very doable without taking those. expect to work very hard (I guess that goes without saying). also, make sure you are making the right decision about going forward with medical school. I can't imagine giving family any time while going full time at med school (are they ok with that), also, when pushed to your limits of learning you have to have a strong reason why you want to be a doctor.
