Dismissed

Is there any hope once you have been kicked out of a Caribbean Medical School? If there is anyone out there that has survived this set back and still pursued their dream for medicine, please advise. Much appreciated!

you may get more replies on the st matthews forum because that school seemed to take a lot of transfers after students were dismissed from auc back in my day.

Yes. There are many and a load of them out there, and, to tell the truth, they are doing much better. Those that I know are graduating this May, and some just finished 5th semester with me in Chicago.

There are many schools out there that will take you without any doubt. But, please, whatever put on you that track, you must be willing to put it to rest and stay focus and keep on being a dedicated and devoted student.

It's easier to get your behind kicked out of med school than to stay in, and may things can have effects, or put a load on how you perform while you are in school. Life is itself a burden, and no body can be your better judge than your very self. Just try to talk to the man within, and make sure you stay positive.

Call the schools that you want to go to, and tell them of your story and try not to hide the reasons. Just tell them you want to get a second chance.
This is not the end of the world, my friend. I wish you all the best, and I will surely keep you in my prayers.

Keep your head up!

I was told over the phone SMU is not taking any more transfer as of last month (if you were looking for credit for advanced standing.) I asked for transfer into the beginning of the clinical years.

Many schools ask for letters of recommendation from the basic science faculty, letter of recommendation from the dean, and/or a letter stating that you are in good standing and are able to return to that school (like AUC).
