As a student of WSOM, I suggest you go to AUA. It is a better school and has several listed advantages. When you reach your 2nd year and take Micro, and can't pass that course and get dismissed, like the rest of the 50 of your AUA friends....transfer to Windsor, you'll be accepted, and have the opportunity to become a practicing physician in several states (excluding NY, TEX, CA of course)

If you get accepted to AUA and choose WSOM, that better be a financial decision.

If you want more information about WSOM, please refer to the WSOM thread and ask questions there.

As for infomercial's and advertising...I think AUA should chill on the DISHNetwork Ad's lol.

Buddy, if this was an informercial, I would be doing a better job in trying to promote the school. LOL.

I really think you are working for AUA.

If you can't pass micro trying studying instead of being on Value MD, that's a simple solution.

Simple facts, Windsor around twice as long as AUA, but like you stated can't practice in NY, FLA which AUA grads can. AUA has paperwork in for CA while Windsor can't even get NY(like 3rd tier schools) which is relatively easy to get. Windsor clinical sites are a secret(like 3rd tier schools) while AUA clinical sites posted on website. AUA has had oner match, this year second year..last years match posted on website...Where is Windsors match list having been around twice as long. Simple comparison shows which school is moving towards and committed to becoming a top tier school over time and which is content to be a 3rd tier school and display the characteristics of a 3rd tier school.

I don't know about Windsor not being able to get NY, i think WSOM will be able to get NY in the future, we all know of Windsor's shortcomings, but there has been improvement made with the new campus and some new faculty members....you got to realize that starting class sizes for WSOM was only 8-10 students, only in the past year or so has WSOM been getting 80-100 students per term which improved funding and resulted in completion of the new WSOM campus. I totally agree that Windsor's match list needs to be updated. However, it should be noted that nowhere near are all the WSOM residents, and students that pass the Step 1,2, get residency are listed on that page.

yeah i dont know of anyone personally, but as long as rotations are done in St Kitts (country of med school origin) then a WSOM student can apply for licensure in NY.
