Am I Screwed?

I just received notice that I have been dismissed from one of the Big Three schools. I passed all my basic sciences classes but could not pass the school's comprehensive (shelf) exam. I applied for re-admission as the letter directed but was denied. Has this ever happened to anyone else, and does that mean that I am dead in the water for medical school?

Listen! You are not dead in water at all. There are other good schools out there and they want you more than students who failed ** courses. Just apply to the other schools and go back to the books as soon as you can. So what you don't pass the shelf exams?
Just go to a different school and seek advise from professors at your new school.
