I heard in Cuba some doctors wash cars (of tourists) to supplement their astounding monthly incomes.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned teaching. My buddy was teaching at a nearby technical school and was making a decent salary.

There are great jobs in the pharmaceutical and medical business for MDs w/o licensure. Consider a Medical Science Liaison which pays $150,000/yr plus 20-30% bonus. You have to have great people and presentation skills. There are other jobs in the business if you start looking around.

Smile Jobs for MDs

Post Doc Fellowships are the way to go, if you want to remain in the residency game.
working for pharm rep, is somewhat the cheap way out.
PDFs offer the MD academic challenge and you can remain clinically involved.

I wasn't talking about a pharm rep job as the previous poster suggests. The Medical Science Liaisons are part of the medical affairs department within pharmaceutical companies. It requires excellent interpersonal skills, since there is much contact with research sites and key opinion leaders. Just search any big job website for Medical Affairs or Medical Science Liaison.

They require only that you have an M.D. I don't know if they will sponsor foreign workers. It probably depends on the company, but you will need to speak PERFECT english.
