MUST Read books!!!

Hi, I was just wondering if there are other great medical books to read. I know two: Intern Blues and House of God. Do you know any that are must reads, must haves, or interesting to read, in terms of the life in Medical school, a Doctor, and other topics aswell. I'm really would like to find other books to keep me on the go, Thanks

Interesting you should ask, but the most important 'must read' yet smallest book in its class is:

'All You Wanted To Know About Med School But You Won't Find Here" by A Z Skeppy.

I never could get through HOG. I never thought it was well written nor could I really digest its cynicism. sherwin newland has written some good stuff. And actually though hardly a literary masterpiece, the biog of C. Everett Koop is remarkable for some of the heroics he engaged in with regard to the AIDS crisis years ago in a particular political and personal climate. He also lived through some amazing medical developments not least of which was the use of PCN. But most doctors who write books (and quote them) seem to think they're more interesting than they are.

Becoming a Doctor, by ****** Konner, M.D. It gives an interesting perspective of a non-traditional med student during his clinical years and residency.
