2 schools on Bonaire

There are 2 medical schools on Bonaire, St James and Xavier I would like to know which one is better and also how difficult is it to find housing there.

You should try to talk to students at each school.

Finding housing on Bonaire is a major pain in the ____! The locals are very challenging and it isn't just about money. I heard so much about how they didn't want to rent to students even if you paid the entire semester or year in advance.

They make their bank off of tourists, as that is their only industry. Well, they also have a salt mine, but I can't see that as much of a business. I am speaking from direct experience.

If you go to St James - a teacher has places to stay. Xavier was on Bonaire then left and is now back. The locals don't trust Xavier students because many left to go to Aruba with them holding the bag by not being paid. Now as to which one is better - Well St James has grads and some people have posted Xavier has ties to St Chris. That is a can of worms you don't really want to open.

To OLDSCHOOL and OP here, the SGA helps with housing and 100% have found places to stay there are about 140 students on the island from SJSM.

Also SJSM has an active AMSA chapter. PM me if you want to know about SJSM I would be happy to tell ya.
