Anybody heard of Jordanian University of Medicine?
Hey guys, I am in the US and am applying to med schools.... My MCAT is decent (30) and my GPA in college was o.k. 3.25 Anyways I have a couple US friends that are attending the medical school in Amman Jordan, all the classes are in English and you do your residency in the US after your done there and you pass the USMLE So do any of you guys know anything about this college or Amman in general? Their website is kinda crappy but my friends said the college was good and not too expensive http://www.ju.edu.jo/faculties/index.htm I was thinking about Ross or AUC but since I have a middle east heritage I thought it would be cool to study there and be close to family. Also can you get a loan for a foreign medical school?
Thanks in advane |

I have been to Jordan several times. I love the country, the people are great, and the weather is really good. I have heard that Jordan University is very hard to get into. My cousin who lives there had a difficult time of getting in.

I guess this is their response about their graduates
"Graduates of the Faculty of Medicine have built an excellent reputation for the University of Jordan throughout the world. Hundreds of them have become prominent physicians, distinguished academics or researchers in the best centers in the United States of America, Europe, and the Arab world. Subsequent to these achievements, medical centers in the U.S.A. give a preferential treatment for the graduates of the Faculty in issues of admission to residency programs and employment as attending staff. More than 25% of the faculty members are from its graduates, and several others are currently engaged in advanced training sponsored by the University of Jordan to become faculty members upon completion of their training." |
