International Medical School of America
Hello:
International Medical School of America International Medical School of America Does anybody knows anything about this school? |

Any school that asks for the whole program in advance is telling everyone that it is not sure it will be around in 4 years and wants your money now! Besides, how are you going to get your money back if you have to quit?
This school is not listed in IMED. Nor is South Pacific School of Medicine listed for Cook Island in IMED. Dont be that desparate to go to these 2 schools. If you are concern about costs, try the Phillipines, Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Czech), etc. All are better choices than this school, imho. Quote:

Meeting licensing requirements
I'm trying to remember some rules here so if I am wrong please let me know. Students applying for licensure are normally required, at least in some states, to prove they were out of the country during their medical training. This can mean presenting your passport to prove you were out of the country during your period of basic science training. If you attend this school and have your housing on the American side of the border, you will not be able to do this. Mexico does not require a passport until you are approximately 50 miles into the country. So you will be able to live in the USA and take classes in Mexico but there will be no passport record that you ever left the USA. What happens then when you are challenged by a state licening board? Just a thought.

Weatherman you are very very WRONG! LOL!
Re I asked a friend who lives in Roma, Texas which is about the closest town to where this thing is suppose to be. Nobody there has heard about the place. Something funny going on here. Weatherman, believe it or not man, this place actually exists! LOL They started in a refurbished library of a secondary school in Nuevo Gueerero at the end of July with seven students and one teacher; a DO who graduated in 2000, and who by 2003 was disbarred by the Texas Medical board . Later a second teacher was added. Have you ever hear off a Medical school with ONLY TWO TEACHERS? I have not, except for IMSA and SPSOM.Have you ever hear off a Medical school with a single one door classroom with no library. When you say that “Something funny going on here”, I am sorry to tell you that you are very very wrong Sir! Its not funny at all! ITS HILARIOUS! Some of the students will tell you that they now realize that this teacher is a bluffer, and that he is not fit to teach medical students, but they like how he goes about his business to some extent, as this allows them to get high grades without having to work hard. After five months, some of the students had not yet worked out that they were not being fed the MEAT of the MEDICAL WORD but were only getting watered down MILK. One student reports that this “genius” goes over the same kindergarden type lesson he taught in the morning in the afternoon (we know that in the high paced way in which information is delivered in Medical schools that there is not much time for such moddly coddling.) The real truth is that this poor soul did not know what they ought to be taught, and did not know how to expose the students to either the QUALITY or QUANITY of material needed to pass the USMLE step 1 exam. You ever hear of the tv program deal or no deal? Well this man is “DR HERE’S THE DEAL”, because that is what he says before he gives them every question on his exam paper (some of the students still failed). One day (actually several days) he cancelled classes for the day……just so. Another day he had the students (including big married men in their late thirties and forties with children) in the school yard putting up Christmas decorations in class time. The school's Chief Academic Officer called him his LEAD FACULTY! Unfortunately, it gets more hilarious than this! The school has as its Chief Academic Officer, a man who ran the school from his home in San Antonio by email and telephone (while working at a second job). He is a new and unique brand of Medical School Dean called an EMAIL DEAN,or a TELEPHONE DEAN. When I think about the poor owner of the school and the financial backers, and the money that they have invested in this school, and when I think of the poor performance of this academic travesty, I think also of the words that start the parable of the good Samaritan……….“A man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves!” I honestly feel very sorry for these men with obvious good intentions, but it is high way robbery for any Chief Academic Officer to think that he can run a Medical school (actually two) by EMAIL OR TELEPHONE. Like that poor man so many years ago, they hired someone who has taken their money (over US$100,000 per annum), and has delivered very very little! He should be made to restore what he has literally stolen! Weatherman, nothing funny is happening funny over there Sir! You are WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! ITS ACTUALLY HILARIOUS (just fell out my chair LMAO). |
