The studies provided by the institution will not be recognized by that State’s Educational System, nor will be taken into account for the purpose of equivalence or validation.

Signed by Secretary of Education.

This says to me that the school is operating because the state could not find a law to prevent it.

This statement by the Secretary of Education is both interesting and
instructive. The keyword in this extract is of course “pretends. ”This
suggests that the Secretary of Education does not believe that IMSA
students receive an education that is adequate to prepare them for
places
in the US system of the practice of medicine.

As far as the Secretary of Education is concerned they can operate, but
the
State will not recognize their training or degree.

We can only wonder what sort of spin is being put on the situation by
the
school’s administration in a desperate hope to save face.

We can only wonder what the poor gullible students can do to rectify
the sad
situation in which they have found themselves.

Students who have not signed on and paid their money for the next two
semester should take careful notice. Caveat emptor!

Ah, you guys have such a sense of humor....

For others who are seriously considering this school, you need to consider that this "school" is not recognized by IMED.

The school website at "www.imsaonline.us/faq.htm" states:
Quote:
Is IMSA affiliated with any medical school in Mexico?
IMSA is the officially chartered branch campus of the South Pacific School of Medicine, located in the Cook Islands. SPSOM has been authorized by the Cook Island government to grant the degree of Medical Doctor (M.D.) for students of both campuses. IMSA has permission from the local municipal government and the government of the State of Tamaulipas to operate as a branch campus of SPSOM (see official documents)
Neither IMSA nor SPSOM are listed with IMED (imed.ecfmg.org).

If you are going to spend $51,000 USD with this school, why not give it to me instead. At least, you wont feel like you were screwed later, and I'll even send you a thank-you note.

There is also some stuff going on with its south pacific parent wanting to build a school somewhere in the cook islands but refusing to invest in mexico.

Ok so, what about the 3rd and 4th years? Where do you do your clinicals? In the unlikely case that you pass the step 1.

Another question...what about lab hours? Anatomy? Histology? Microbiology? Arent you required to have some amount of lab hours....

I think I want to open a medical school too...Hmm

Do you really need an MD to open one up?
