    Wes?

Has anyone used WES to get US-style grades from their home countries? I'm particularly interested if anyone knows what the US equivalent of A-Levels in the UK is? Do they count as college credit hours?

for 17/18 year olds, A levels are of a higher level than the US equivilent. You can traslate your reseults into a GPA, although i am not totally with what you want - is it a course which is equiv. to the US style? if so, why?

I meant translating A-Levels into the US equivalent. On some threads here, people are discussing how difficult it is to get medical licensure in some US states if you don't have at least 60 undergraduate credit hours. I'm looking to see how many credits (if any) my A-Levels and 1 year of Pre-Med would count for

I think i get what you mean now. Full A2's and 1 year of premed (such as that at SGU). I would imagine that you wouldn't have many problems, with you not 'cutting any corners' so to speak. Of course you would get credit for the appropriate A levels, and i think the premed year at the well respected school would give you sufficient credits not to land graduates in the pooh pooh when applying for a residency.

Just an educated guess i suppose, see if anybody with the knowledge replies .

Good luck, Btw which premed are you applying for?.

Oh yes, interesting programme. i believe the total cost of this programme to be around the 17kGBP. I think the SGU premed is about 30kUSD all inclusive.

Anyway, good luck with your studies in sussex - i have a friend at BSMS who is enjoying every minute of it!

Yeah, I hope what I'll have done will be worth enough credits if they're required... It's just one hurdle after another

I think that all official premed (SMU-SUSSEX / SGU-SGU premed) programmes get you upto the required credits with them being aimed at mainly US students so i wouldn't worry. I guess you might aswell ask somebody in the know (sussex intl admissions or MDeurope).

    Once again good luck.

P.s. I may well be an applicant at the end of this year - but only to become a re applicant to the UK.

I got my grades evaluated by WES.. dont go to them... they are horrible!
I paid $150 for course-by-course evaluation + $ 195 for one day rush service. But they messed up... they evaluated a 6 credit course of ORGANIC chemistry as INORGANIC chemistry!!! And even after e-mailing and calling them repeatedly, they took 4 WEEKS to re-evaluate.. WITHOUT a single apology for such a primitive mistake as well as for ignoring my e-mails and not returning my calls for 3 weeks!!

A "reputed" company as WES made such a primitive mistake and did not take responsibility for it! I think im lucky that I requested a copy of my evaluation report to be sent to me first before sending them out to my prospective schools. A company that refuses to take responsibility for their mistake made in the evaluation report would not have taken responsibility for messing up my applications!

This is my story.... you are free to make your own decisions!
