Talking Best Anatomy & Physiology Text books

Hi all

I am going to start medical school next year...

I would like to know your opinions on which

1) Anatomy Text Book is best (Sobotta, Netter's - any other?)

2) Physiology Text Book is best -?

Thank you!

Hey, I like Moore for anatomy and then the netters atlas; for physio I like guyton and costanza. Then again you really want to get what ur med school uses and go by those. You could by others as maybe a reference because there are many awesome texts out there. I'm not saying the texts i said are the best because I don't knw, but I like them.

I agree with Mr doc. Learn as much basic Anatomy memorization as you can now. Leave the details for later. Almost every reference on very detailed info gives slightly different names or actions and your prof. will tell you which to go by after you start. Guyton is excellent for physio though, and thick. I think they offer a condensed version. BRS series are good references. You could probably get a first aid book and try starting to familiarize yourself with it and implimenting what you know from undergrad. If your just bored start memorizing all of the biochem cycles, amino acids and molecular structures. Many valuable study hours in med school are lost to basic memorization.

I think you should take this opportunity to get piss drunk. After your body can't take anymore alcohol, then just pick up Netters, memorize the basic structures, where they are in relation to each other. Then you should be fine for gross as a first year. Physio? Eh, just wait until you're in med school.
