problem?

i remember there being a problem with this list.

ross university has atleast 3,000 graduates practicing...and its located in dominica...not the dominican republic. furthermore, i dont think the DR has that many practicing US doctors....

i suspect the two countries were mistaken as one and their stats combined.

why not write them a note and ask them? could be interesting to see....also ask them how many grads they show from antigua, st. kitts, nevis, st. lucia....would be interesting.

Former USSR

It is plainly clear that whoever put this list together is either lazy or ignorant.

Quote:
- Former USSR - 2.3% (4,581)
The USSR disintegrated around 1991, to be replaced by the Commonwealth of Independent States, a supranational body that had no real power and which also disintegrated several years later. Its latest reincarnation is a loose alignment of Belorussia, Ukraine and Russia along with some sort of an association agreement incorporating Kazakhstan, as well as other minor former Soviet republics.

Regardless, the former states of the Soviet Union are now sovereign independent (yes, I know that's redundant) countries.

My point is that using the term 'former USSR' is a careless classification. Will a newly graduated Uzbekh from Uzbekhistan be placed into this category? A Latvian, Lithuanian, or Estonian (all of whom are about to enter the European Union, nevertheless had been part of the former USSR, whether the US and Britain recognized it or not)?

What do you expect from the AMA, especially its IMG division?

Miklos
