How hard is it to get a loan?

Does anyone know if the pell grant is offered for MUA? I've had it as an undergraduate but was wondering if it'll still be offered to me once I start at MUA. Also, I applied for the teri loan and am wondering how hard it is to get? I did apply for the medachiever loan as well but was denied. My credit isn't great but I have proof of working the past two and a half years. Anybody out there in a similar situation but still received the teri loan? Are there any other loans/grants out there offered for international medical students?

Cheers!

Look into intenational student loan...do a search. I know there is one company that provides loans strictly for international students...if I can remember it I will post it.

No, I am not using them. However, I have heard of them, but I have no experience with them, sorry.

No pell grant for MUA

It's my understanding that grants of any kind are not offered to students of graduate level work, just undergraduates.

In addition, MUA is not eligible for federal student loans anyway. The only Caribbean schools currently eligible for U.S. Federal student loans are:

Dominican Republic
OPEID INSTITUTION CITY COUNTRY STATUS
01281100 Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo Santo Domingo DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Eligible
01280200 Pontificia Universidad Catolica "Madre y Maestra" Santiago DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Eligible
01097700 Universidad Central del Este San Pedro de Macoris DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Eligible
02351800 Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) Santo Domingo DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Eligible
03334300 Universidad Nordestana San Francisco de Macori DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Eligible

Dominica
02246000 Ross University, School of Medicine Portsmouth DOMINICA Eligible

Grenada
02233300 St George's University, School of Medicine St George's GRENADA Eligible

St.Kittas
02277900 Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine West Farm ST. KITTS-NEVIS Eligible

St. Maarten
02244400 American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine Cupecoy ST.MAARTEN Eligible

Regarding alternative loans, check the school's website or email the financial aid office. Most of the Caribbean schools with websites list the alternative loan sources.
