Maybe Kigezi Really Is Fraudulent
I also found a website about Kigezi that suggests that
its background is a bit checkered: http://www.aaimg.com/list/cambridge.html Why is Kigezi in England where it is not an English school? It's MD is from Uganda, right? How do you explain that? |

Direct Quote from http://www.aaimg.com/list/cambridge.html
Quotation from the American Association of International
Medical Graduates http://www.aaimg.com/list/cambridge.html " * St. Christopher University * Kigezi International School of Medicine * Medical College of London * London Medical College Since 1996, the United Kingdom has become a site of convenience for new medical schools chartered in other countries. The medical school promoters obtain a World Health Organization listing but have little to no presence in the country. They rent offices and a few classrooms at local colleges in the U.K and operate a “campus” and program leading to the Doctor of Medicine degree. Cambridge, England, is an ancient university town and home to many prestigious British colleges that was once home to three such schools: Grace University (chartered in the Caribbean then Central America), St. Christopher (chartered in Senegal) and Kigezi (chartered in Uganda) all have had a “campus” there. As the story goes, the promoters of St. Christopher and Kigezi got their start as students and faculty at Grace. The recent site visit shows only Kigezi remaining in Cambridge. St. Christopher now rents facilities at the Polytechnic University in Luton and Grace has departed to Belize, where it actually holds a charter... Kigezi International School of Medicine, Cambridge, England, 2000 Deficiencies: Section I a,b,c,e,f,h; Section II b,f,g,k,l; Section III a,b,c,d,h,j,k; Section IV c,d,f,g,m; Section V b,c,d,e, f,h,j,k,l,m,n; Section VI a,b,c,de,f,g,j;Section VII b,c,d,f;SVIIId There have been few fundamental changes since our last site visit. The core of the school remains housed in the same small three story facility in Cambridge but it in no manner meets the standards of a true medical school teaching facility. Students go to the nearby Eurocenter for classes and can use building facilities. The library has added holdings and computers. More names of instructors appear in the catalog but the bulk of instruction is done by part-time faculty. Clerkships are done primarily, according to students, in the U.K and there are options to go to a hospital in Uganda. There is no listing of advertised clerkships in the United States. There is a US office, however, in the small Ohio river town of Ripley. What is particularly astonishing is the high tuition rate charged by Kigezi for such a minimal program." |

Maybe Kigezi Really Is Fraudulent

c'mon, this topic has been discussed in lots of different forums over and over. just about everyone knows that the aaimg is bogus. just do a search on this site and u will find all the info u need to determine this urself. now if u already knew that and ur just trying to stir up crap (my best guess) than ur a troll which isnt welcome here. if u really have questions about the aaimg than learn more about their bogus ways before quoting them. here is something to get u started from the federation of world medical associations (probably just as bogus as aaimg). Answer the Question
You still have not answered my question!
If Kigezi is a Ugandan school, why doesn't it have a campus in Uganda? Instead, it has a P.O. Box in Uganda? ... smells like fish to me. Don't say that the Kabale Hospital is the campus in Uganda. That hospital is its own independant institution. Kigezi is exploiting a third world country. That's like registering a school in the "hood" but telling people that classes are in Beverly Hills. Just lease some rooms in Beverly Hills and create a "store front" for a school that is really registered in the "hood". Third world countries are sick of being exploited. |

some people should never be doctors
hello,
kigezi is associated with the kabale hospital and in addition has built a clinic for patients in kabale. every student is required to spend at least 12 weeks working in kabale. interesting, that doesn’t sound like exploitation to me. why don't you visit kabale hospital and ask if the students and doctors from kigezi have helped the people of the kigezi region? I just thought I would also point out that the program sponsors two Ugandan students every year, paying tuition and living expenses while in the program. I think what each person reading the posts from these (actually THIS) individual(s) should think is “would I want this person as my doctor”? I really haven’t ever figured out why people go through so much effort to make bogus claims. "do no harm". My education from Kigezi has been excellent all the way through. I am currently in clinical rotations, and scored well into the 90’s on the USMLE step 1. Look past the ** on this site. You are going to be a doctor. Think like one. What would a person do if they couldn’t get into a medical school??? Spread love, not hate. |
