semantics
But the school was never LCME approved. The students used to (right now I am in the process of verifying with IMED and ECFMG) take the USMLE by virtue of its WHO listing, but with the new IMED listing I am verifying if they still can take the USMLE or not. As I quoted you, many students have succeeded in getting residencies in the US graduated from this school and many enjoy privileged positions at prestigious US hospitals. I don't see how than can be weary or dangerous. I am aware of the LCME issue and I am aware they are in the process of trying to get it. Technically speaking, as an educational institution the school is accredited, recognized by its territory and a DOE regionally acrediting body, not by the LCME but by the aforementioned institutions which entitles their graduates to pursue medical licensing in their territory which then, by means of other technicalities may or may not pursue medical licensing in other jurisdictions.
Yes, you are right, it is a matter of semantics and technicalities, that is how I make a living. Peace brother Quote:

SJB is a good choice and if you take the Revalida, this is the Step 1 for PR, and do your residency in PR you can practice in some states of the US. Washington DC accepts the Revalida, and Colorado, t
Michigan if you had the PR lincense for 10 years. Florida same story 10 years. But florida will give license to any doctor who has license to practice in 3 states or territory of the US, You have the PR, you apply for DC and Colorado and you have the 3 states. and you can practice in Florida... But you can work in any state with the Federal goverment in any Veterans Hospital, in the NIH, or army, navy, air force. This is not in response to anything, but just as an update to this thread, San Juan Bautista is now fully LCME accredited for the next 4 years (which is the normal term of accreditation for any school) and their focus is on community medicine, but just as a philosophy that would not present a limitation in obtaining residencies. Also, integrated into their curriculum is a requirement to publish some form of research which bodes very well for their students when considering that everyone applying for residency is bound to have a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA and is becoming gradually more important, and apparently (according to 2nd year students I have spoken to) the classes are now being particularly tailored to the USMLE step exams and the class sizes being small is conferring a great comfort for 3rd and 4th year students. Hope this helps.
