Anyone from U.S or Canada studying in Krakow (Poland)?

Hi there,

Was wondering if anyone is sudying in Poland especially in Krakow?

If you have any information about the following questions to let me know, it would be highly appreciated:

Jagiellonian University medical college / Poznan / university of Warsaw

1- Are they all NY/ Ca approved?

2- Which one is all 50 states approved?

3- How hard is it to get into IM residency graduating from these schools?

4- How is the quality of teaching?

5- Can we do elective in States?

6- If one doesn't know Polish, is it possible to get along with the clinical rotation?

Thanks
Rico

Currently, none of their English programs are approved either by California (it doesn't list "including English Program" after the school name) or New York (see the list under Form 2CC for those schools approved for more than 12 weeks of clinical rotations). According to the folks from Poznan, they've applied to California.

Miklos, one thing I don't get, is school being REQUIRED to be approved my California. I REALLY have no intention of moving to California. I've never been there - I'm strictly an East Cost guy.

Is it ESSENTIAL for the schools to be approved there? I read somewhere, that 'other' states also have 'in-direct' requirements, that state, a school MUST be approved my california, WHICH, of course - elminates these schools from future practice...

...well, my concern was, how widespread is this? In terms of how many states will let me practice?

Thx

Take a look at the sticky on top of the State Licensing forum for States that use the California list.

As to whether you should care or not, read carbon's post on the subject.
