Is there any site that offers foreign med school rankings? USnews only seems to offer US schools' rankings.

Also, when will Charles U. know whether Cali will accept MD's from the 1st faculty? Is there a way to check?

Is there any information on how challenging it is to get into residencies in the US from a school like Charles?

And finally, does anyone know of articles that discuss the differences in education between foreign and US schools?

You can find out from Pat Parks. You can PM her by looking up her posts on this forum.

Or you can go to this site http://www.medbd.ca.gov/Unapproved_Med_Schools.htm and call her at the number listed.

If you do find out anything, could you update us and post the info here?

the application from charles was recieved a while ago...no new information on approval as of last week.

I am looking for any relatively cheap english speaking medical school anywhere. I've heard that schools in Russia are relatively inexpensive. Please let me know as I am fully supporting myself through medical school. Thanks!

I suggest you look at Czech and Hungarian schools first. Most have had English programs for over a decade now and my view is the programs are pretty strong. The programs are not so targeted to US students as most of the students are European, but you can make your own adjustments and prepare yourself for Step 1 easily, ...but it takes discipline. It's not the optimal route for being a doc in the states, but it's definately doable. Czech is Charles University and I'm at DOTE (University of Debrecen). Good luck.
