Here's the link to the recommended list for 1st-year students in the 6-year program:

http://www.amp.edu.pl/eng/index.php?...amp;test=y249y

I'll leave it up to students from the 6-year program to tell you which ones are necessary and which ones aren't because you certainly won't need all of them.

I would also suggest you wait to buy books until you get here for several reasons:

1. too heavy and takes up valuable space in your suitcases, and a retailer called Bookseller near the old market stocks all of our textbooks and can order books for you.

2. you should find out the recommended books from the professors as well as talk to upper-year classmates about which ones are useful and necessary when you get here
3. you can buy used books from upper year students posted on the ASG website or on flyers posted throughout the dorms
4. i've heard you can also get copied versions from a copier near campus at a fraction of the retail price, but I wouldn't know because I abide by all copyright laws

I just finished my 4th yr here... Been through all the possible textbooks (which of course wasnt necessary) ... I agree with mutig25 about the fact that getting books at home is not a good iidea... It takes up space in the luggage and U have to buy them all new... There are many students of the 6yr program selling books, including myself (my list is posted on the ASG website)... Don't know what they have posted at the dorms since I don't live there but it would be no problem to get all the first yr books from older students selling them, as they are no longer needed for the most part.
Hope that helps
