    let's hear it from KMU

where are you guys approved... No one will tell me. Not even your offices. That is really putting me off from the whole KMU experience. Also, I have read that if you are an American guy in Poznan the Polish girls love you... But if you are an American girl in Poznan then you are on your own... What would happen if you were an American guy dressed as an American woman . Not that I will be but I am just curious.

    bye now

    approval

PUMS English programs (4 year and 6 year) are not approved by the State of California. See the approved list:

    http://www.medbd.ca.gov/Applicant_Sc...Recognized.htm

Our school, however, is not on Colorado's "questionable medical school list" which means that graduates are eligible to practice there. Here's the response from Ms. Seewald from the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners in response to my question about ACGME-approved elective rotations and whether PUMS is an approved medical school in Colorado.

Subject: Colorado Board of Medical Examiners
    Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 09:38:10 -0700
    From: "Seewald, Jan" <Jan.Seewald@dora.state.co.us>
    To: <xxxxx>

    Dear xxxxx,

The Colorado Board of Medical Examiners has no requirements for rotations.

There are no medical schools in Poland that are on our questionable medical school list.

    Sincerely,

I also know that at least one graduate is currently practicing in Colorado. In addition, we have graduates practicing in Texas, New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. I'm sure there are more in other states, but that's all of the information I have from my limited research. It's unfortunate that our school has done a poor job of maintaining contact with alumni.

Not true. The polish guys like American girls, as well. If you were an American guy who dresses as an American woman, you would most likely run into some problems. Transvestites, as well as gays and lesbians, are not highly regarded here in Poland, but times are changing. Until then, I suggest you keep your urges to publicly cross-dress confined to cities like San Francisco or Berlin where the climate is more tolerant.

    thanks

Ha ha ha... Thanks for the advice... I will keep that in mind. But seriously folks. I know a girl who is from KMU doing a residency in NJ as well so we can add that to the list. What do you think about the California approval that they have applied for. Do you know how long it will take to find out and such.

There is alot more where that came from. If that's all it takes to put you off from the KMU experience, I strongly suggest you seek your medical education elsewhere in the world. Although things are changing rapidly, these types of idiosynchrasies are simply a fact of daily life in this part Europe.

    KMU Poznan

    Hey Chav,

Shop around I don't think you will be happy here. Unless you come here with an open mind and a lot of patience. This is nothing like the USA.

    Bye ..... Gerry

    right...

thanks for the advice... I consider myself open minded but I think my patience ran out during my experience with Kigezi. I'll definately check out some other options... I really want to like KMU because the students I met there were really cool and very enthused about their program but my experiences with the administration so far have been a bit dodgey so I will probably stay away... Oh, and I am not a cross dresser. I was just trying to be funny so whoever it is who keeps sending me emails regarding this topic... Please stop.

I was wondering if any of the current KMU students have a sense as to what type of residencies KMU graduates are accepted into. I imagine internal medicine is probobably most common but I was wondering if you've heard of students that got accepted to other programs.
