How is the quality of education?
Can anyone sit for PLAB or USMLE if they graduate from Odessa Medical university?

How is security in odessa?

I have not seen the medical institute in lugansk but as far as the city is concerned, odessa is by far better than lugansk. And some of our friends who are Indians had come on visit during new year and in their view the med institute in odessa was better than lugansk. If u have got queries feel free to ask

The courses are in english for the whole six years and the city is also safe compared to other ukrainian cities. About hostels , i think they are not as good as of those of other univerisities in odessa

I read in one of the posts that you are studying medicine in Odessa, me and my freind are also thinking of applying there but we are not sure if the place is safe. I have quite a few questions (sorry in advance)

What is the social environment like there? is it easy to settle in? how are the proffessors there? is there a lot to do activity vise (going out wise - movies..etc)...do u find the language barrier? Whats the transport like there?

I also read that accomodation is not that great...is it bad in terms of hygiene or size wise?

Dear Riya

In my view odessa is much safer than other city in ukraine. It is quite a nice place compared to other places in ukraine and is much safe . If you are an indian then there are almost 250 students from india and they celebrate their festivals in hostel. As far outing is concerned , Odessa has shopping malls and students do go to the city centre for strolling in the main street of odessa. Odessa has got very good beaches and sanitoriums.

I have personally found the hostels very dirty and not good especially those of the medical university though the hostels of some universities are fairly good . But you can take a flat but it is usually very expensive.
