Some quick questions...

Hi there,

I am planning on applying to a medical school in either Poland, Czech or Hungary and here are the schools I am interested in:

Poland: Warsaw and Jagiellonian

Czech: Charles 1st Faculty

Hungary: Szeged

1- Since I have a B.Sc degree, does anybody know if I can transfer to the 2nd or the third year?

2- How hard was that for non-native people to learn the language? which language is closer to English?
Eventhough I would like to attend the english program, but I was told I do need to learn the language...

3- The latter two are being approved by CA, but I've heard that the first two are working on getting approval.. Does anyone know about this?

4- WHich of them has a better place to live and study in terms of country and the university? For instance, I went to visit Saba and I felt depressed and bored of the Island and the Campus...

5- I am choosing this over my current carribean med-school, Is it worth transfering or not?

You cannot get advanced placement at Jag (or most other 4-year programs) with your ** degree.

Polish is harder than Spanish (for example) but it's mostly about how much time you decide to put into it.

Don't expect the others to have approval. If this is something important to you then I would choose a school that already has approval.

Visit each school if you want the answer to question #4.

You can only transfer into the 3rd year and this is almost impossible. Whether it's worth transfering or not is difficult for us to even discuss because we don't know your motivation for writing your post. Why don't you try to explain why you are unsatisfied at your current school and why you are considering transfer.

thanks for the comments. there are couple of reasons why I would like to transfer.

1- the tuition here is too much and I see myself in a huge debt after I graduate. not to mention the rent and the food prices.

2- I don't like the Island life here. It's true that I study all the time and I barely have time to go out, but having said that, there is nothing to do in that time. and as a result, I see many students get board and homesick, but I've heard from couple of kids in Prague how different it is from here.

Just out of curiosity, which Caribbean school are you at now?

There is a lot of things to do here in Krakow in the 6-7 months of the year that the weather is nice. The winters are bad though and that bothers some people more than others. It's certainly a lot cheaper here than on whatever island you're referring to, and I'm sure you've already looked at the tuition differences.

Can I ask, what year of med school are you in now? Are your grades OK? Are you set on a certain specialization?
