Before I bother the school office with this (presumably they have their hands full this time of year), does anyone around here know how Jagiellonian specifically quantifies their pre-medical class requirements? The website says 2 semesters are needed of the all the basic pre-med courses, and one semester of calculus, but there's an obvious difference between taking a one credit pass-fail math course for a semester and taking, for lack of a better term, something harder. Any insight? Would my hunch that they use credit hours be correct?

The application deadlines for this school are different than US schools - If I want to enter in fall of '09 I apply in early '09(more specifically February 1 - June 15)? Is it better to apply ASAP or is there no difference between early and late submissions? Thanks!

I applied towards the end of April and was Interviewed at the beginning of May. Sure beats waiting months and months like they generally do within the US and Canada. I believe that applying four to six months ahead for any international school is prudent. I did just that and was invited to 8 out of 9 possible interviews for September '08. Point is, you've got loads of time for '09. Read the websites, write, or call of all the schools you plan to apply to find out if there is an early acceptance and a start date for earliest application. Make sure you're ahead of the pack because of the rolling acceptance. International schools generally respond within a month, or such was my experience with all of the Caribbean school and JUMC; Poznan took a few months to get back to me.

Hi everyone!
Found this forum while reading about polish universities. And this university seem real good. Even though I don't really have to stress, 2 years left in my upper secondary class (17 year old). And I'm hoping for good result to enter Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. To my question, I'm living in Stockholm, Sweden. And I'm wondering if Norwegian/Swedish students also uses the MCAT test to get in, or if they only look at your grades? Or if we do any other test than what you americans do. I can only see that people that first has taken a candidate on the high-school is allowed to apply? You can't go directly from upper secondary class (19 year old) to the university? Cause what I've seen on forums, it seems to be a lot of scandinavians on Jag. Last edited by Bergie; 08-12-2008 at 07:31 AM. |
