st.christopher college-licensure in israel

hello!
I am interested in studying medicine in st.christopher college.
But I want to live in Israel and work there after graduating.
So I wanted to know, if it is possible to work in israel after earning the degree in st.christopher?or what are the requirements to get full licensure in israel?
Hope anyone can answer me

internship & licensure

you would need to take a minimum of one extra year as an internship (stage) and fulfill the local licensing requirements. i am sure that it would be possible to practice medicine in israel with an m.d. from st. christopher's, but keep in mind that israel has many doctors, and if you are looking to move there permanently it would be easier to find a job if you have specialized.

as far as licensure requirements, i would try contacting the israeli goverment, or maybe even emailing someone at one of the israeli medical schools that have english/american programs.

hope that was some help.

again

many thanks!
Maybe u have an idea where to find such addresses for israel/american medical programs? So where do I find the email adresses to contact about the licensure in israel?
So that means, I should specialize first, can I do that in the uk after earning the m.d. at st.christopher?and then go to israel?
So in Israel I do not have to take another test or something if I want to work there?

schools/licensure

there are 3 american med programs in israel. you should be able to find contact information on the websites.

1 - Ben Gurion University of the Negev - Medical School for International Health (associated with Columbia University, NY)

http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dept/bgcu-md/Gurion.html

2 - Technion American Medical Students Program - Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine (associated with Touro college, NY).

http://md.technion.ac.il/teams/overview.html

3 - Tel Aviv University - Sackler School of Medicine (associated with the University of the State of New York).

http://med.tau.ac.il/ny/index.htm

as far as specializing after st. chris, it would be the same as if you were to practice in the US. you would need to be accredited there first, do your residency, fellowships, whatever you need for the specialty you are interested in. i don't know much about st. chris, or studying medicine in the UK, so i don't know if you would be able to do that there or not. i suggest talking to someone in the admissions office there.

as far as licensure in israel goes, i am sure that there is a test that you have to take. i just don't know any specifics about it.

another good resource for information on moving to israel is the jewish agency for israel. they have a forum on their website where you can post questions and/or comments.

good luck!

Only if you pass USMLE or canadian boards you don't have to take other tests in Israel all other countries are not recognized by the israeli boards

the test is very similar to USMLE only in hebrew (i think they have English version)

have a good one
