Another what are my chances thread
Hey guys,
I just sent in my application to Sackler. I was wondering a) How long it will take to hear back from them about the next step b) what are my chances with a 3.2, A's in Ochem and Physics, 29O, and 2 years of paid clinical experience? Thanks! |

Thanks for the response, student-2! I was hoping to read some success/not so successful stories from people with similar stats. Also, does doing the Magen David Adom volunteer paramedic thing help? Thanks!!!

you won't here back until jan/feb 08... that's when they start interviewing... the school gets more competitive each year. your MCAT score is well within the norm... your GPA is a little low, but not terrible.. you should be fine

That was my MCAT from before I took some of the classes I needed (physiology and physics) I figure I can raise my MCAT by at least 4 points after these classes. Should I plan on re-taking it and re-applying next year?

You have a pretty good chance. I def. think your mcat score is high enough (sacklers average is probably 26) but if u think u can up your score to a 33 than taking the mcat again should be done and you'll be a shoe in (and can be accepted to a number of american schools too)

What about me?
Please don't answer 'theres only one way to find out'- i know that and i am applying either way but I would like to know my chances. Id like to know if anyone got in with similar stats to mine:
undergrad cgpa: 3.51 graduate gpa: 3.81 MCAT: 24O I know the MCAT is hurting me.... anyone get in with mcat marks in the 23-25 range? |

they answer like that cuz no one knows...no one ever knows wat the admissions committee is looking for...the application is in..now you just have to wait and see...finding out your chances only gets your hopes up
