Did anyone recieve any packages from the Technion with regards to what we need to get i.e books, dissection kit, stethoscopes, scrubs or whatever else? I was just wondering because Rinat haven't sent me anything yet and I would like to find this stuff out. For example I found the same stethoscope that you can get as a group purchase for cheaper here in Canada, maybe it's worth getting the other stuff here as well.

A friend of mine has his Crackberry working in Israel.. it was a pain in the *** for him to get permission from the phone company to use it, but it does work. I bet data service is very expensive.. I was thinking of buying the Q and bringing it back with me but I'm not going to because I read miserable software reviews for it and I dont want to have to deal with the Israeli phone companies for hours upon hours getting it working.

Bring sheets- it's good for the first night at least. In the dorms you will have a small bed but if you plan on having a double bed later bring a big set of sheets (1 set should be enough) and just fold it in the beginning.

I cant plan on having a certain size bed since I dont know what the furnished apartments come with. If you had to guess, what size sheets would you bring?

Also, how fast can I get a sim card in Israel? I have my phone ready to go. I got my vonage ordered so thats cool. Also when I sign up for internet is there a way to get the cable/dsl modem through the provider?

Thanks in advance. im ready to go!

i told you my opinion about the sheets and i would put my energies on other matters like soaking up as much america possible to last you some time.
for a sim card you will need to open an account or i think you may be able to do it with a c. card. not sure. i think it will take you a few days to taske care of. i think the provider gives you all you need, remember that at school you will have wireless.
