i have decided to only attend a school that has california approval. as more and more states decide to spend money on more important things like prisons and sending national guards to foreign wars, they will tend towards letting california tell them what schools to allow students from.

this is not a good thing to have not gotten NY approval. granted, it was not a disapproval, i suppose, but its not positive. NY is supposed to be the easiest to get of the states that have formal approval processes for schools. i actually interviewed here and was told that the approval was all but final.

i realize that while being but a single student will have little fiscal impact on any one school, if more students understood the political climate as it is dynamically moving, then perhaps we could all as a group get the schools to start investing in things that would get the school some approvals instead of just filling the pockets of the super wealthy owners.

we, the students, are just scr'aping by, desperately trying to fulfill childhood or otherwise social-economic dreams. schools that year after year pocket the students money without improving the school and without seeking approvals they should have are in fact taking advantage of the students who are naive enough to ignore the school disclaimers of not being approved in key states.

just my 2 pennies... and recent inflation makes it worthless....
While I may agree with your characterizations of most students who go to medical schools in the Caribbean (we aren't all students who are fulfilling our own dreams - some are the dreams of parents/family). In any case - yeah, the lack of NY approval may not be the greatest thing in the world, but we didn't get disapproval (as you so clearly noted).

We are by no means the perfect school, but we certainly are working to make this school somewhere close to that. If you feel as though you need to attend a school that has California approval, well, I can't blame you. It certainly gives you more options down the line - but please don't assume that our school is like other schools.

I believe that the approval process will go through - it may take more time than previously stated, but you know - this is a school that is clearly working hard and trying to strive for success. While I may not necessarily agree with your assumption that the school only "allows" certain students to take the exam - I believe our success rate on the exam is fairly decent. With more graduates to come, I can only see that number growing higher (hopefully I guess).

Yeah, we're all scrapping by in life for the time being, always hoping that our best laid plans will actually come to fruition (and for some of us, it will). While states may be spending less money on things we deem "unimportant" (of which - the states don't spend money on sending the National Guard overseas - the federal government federalizes the units and then sends them overseas), they will need doctors in the future.

In any case, good luck in your medical career - I wish you well.
