so what exactly does a 2nd ny visit mean? Why are they returning in Feb for a 2nd visit? If so, when can NY approval be expected? March? April?
Also, what are the current plans for expanding clinical sites within the next 6 months? Finally, can you please provide the most current/up to date data on Step 1? |

The recommendations have already been put into place for the most part, and administration as well as the students are optimistic that in NY's second visit - we will get approval. In terms of the time span, you are correct in assuming that March or April will be the rough date that we will find out if we have been accepted by NY or not. I don't have current data on Step 1 scores right now, although I do know that a number of students have taken the exam in the past 4 to 5 months and have passed. If someone has those number, please post them. |

As far as data on Step 1-I'm sure an IAU official could yield a better layout on this data. Nevertheless, we have had several students that have recently taken Step 1 in the past few months and several more that are on their way, with those having taken it, doing very well and already moving into their clinicals.

i have decided to only attend a school that has california approval. as more and more states decide to spend money on more important things like prisons and sending national guards to foreign wars, they will tend towards letting california tell them what schools to allow students from. this is not a good thing to have not gotten NY approval. granted, it was not a disapproval, i suppose, but its not positive. NY is supposed to be the easiest to get of the states that have formal approval processes for schools. i actually interviewed here and was told that the approval was all but final. i realize that while being but a single student will have little fiscal impact on any one school, if more students understood the political climate as it is dynamically moving, then perhaps we could all as a group get the schools to start investing in things that would get the school some approvals instead of just filling the pockets of the super wealthy owners. we, the students, are just scr'aping by, desperately trying to fulfill childhood or otherwise social-economic dreams. schools that year after year pocket the students money without improving the school and without seeking approvals they should have are in fact taking advantage of the students who are naive enough to ignore the school disclaimers of not being approved in key states. just my 2 pennies... and recent inflation makes it worthless....
