IAU is currently situated in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia and has the following:

3 classrooms
4 case study rooms
Eating/Game area
Library
Computer Room
Study area
Administration offices/Teachers offices
Physiology/Physical Diagnosis Lab
Anatomy Lab
Multi-Purpose Lab

Those are the basics (I don't think that I'm missing anything, but if I am please correct me). Dissections do take place (we wouldn't be much of a medical school if we weren't able to do that). They are done in the Anatomy Lab and occur during Anatomy Lab sessions.

Currently there are plans to build a new IAU campus nearby that would be on its own property and contains its own dorms and other associated support facilities. Any administrator can get into more detail about this - but as far as I know, the plans have already been drawn up - but I don't know when the completion date is. Hope that helps.

Ground breaking is scheduled for the Beginning of 2008. As stated by IAUstudent006, the campus has been listed properly and some of the facility can be seen in some of the pictures that we have posted on ValueMD. Any other information can be obtained from our main site: IAU ~ International American University College of Medicine

The campus is "unique" at best. It occupies the third floor of a large building in the heart of vieux fort. The library is adequate, and the books on hand are extremely relevant to what you will need. If something is checked out, just ask around. Someone will let you borrow theirs. There is plenty of space to spread out and study. They have organized some tutoring as well. There are 3 principle classrooms, all equipped with a decent power point projector and computer. Wireless internet is available throughout the school. There is nothing glamorous about it. It's a massive culture shock. You get used to it though.

I was originally told the new campus was to be completed by 2007. It's nearly 2008 and it's still an empty lot with a few goats controlling the grass. The blueprints look nice though. They are hanging in the classrooms if you would like to check them out.

The school has a couple of cadavers, and they are very liberal about who gets to cut what. If you want to disect... have at it. I personally like the 5 gallon bucket with the label that reads "organs". It's a nice touch, and shows how classy anatomy can be. The cadavers are kept in a climate controled environment, and are in relatively good condition. There are several other organs that are available for disection.
