Hurricane Dean
Well, as posted before, all the students here are fine. We lucked out ask the hurricane passed north of St. Lucia and we are located on the southern tip of the island. There is some damage to the infrastructure of the island, but not as bad as expected. One of the hospitals up north had a roof blown off, and boulders have been found in the roads as the heavy rains and waves pushed them onto the streets. The students are all fine, we were holed up at the school and stayed there through the night to make sure that everyone would be OK. As the semester is coming to an end - board exams are looming - so students were able to get some work done before the power was killed by the local electricity company for fear of electrocutions by downed power lines. Power is back up, water should be back up eventually (although when that is going to happen is anyone's guess) but all in all we all came out alright. Thanks for your concerns! |

School hours
The school has been gracious enough to open the school 24 hours until NBME (shelf) boards are over next week.
