New York Clinicals
Hi guys,
I was just reading a thread on the SGU forum that says that they have signed a contract which will allow only SGU students and no other foreign med students to do their clinical rotations in New York. Is this true? |

Yes
Quote:
"Under the terms of the agreement and over the course of the intended 10 years of the contract, St. George’s University will pay HHC an estimated 100 million USD, and will be guaranteed a minimum of 600 training positions." (directly from SGU website) Hospitals such as Bellevue Hopsital (Manhattan); Jacobi Medical Center (Bronx); Coney Island Hospital (Brooklyn); Elmhurst Hospital (Queens) and HHC associated diagnostic and rehabilitation facilites will NOT be open to any other medical students other than US med students and SGU students. Hope that answers your question. |

To add to IAUSTUDENT006, you can read the details released by SGU in this regards on SGU's website, where-in you will find the information pertaining to the particular (NOT "ALL" BY ANY MEANS) hospitals to which SGU has made their agreement.
