Board exams

hello,
I was wondering if there are extra exams you have to take if you go to this school...like a foreign graduate exam of some sort? In comparison to other schools such as ross or SGU.....i am unclear on this subject matter. I know USMLE's are there but if there was any other exams that make this school different from other carib. schools.
thank you

Besides in-house exams every other week, we have NBME "shelf" exam that are given after every subject and are counted heavily in the ability to pass the course.

For more info:

The NBME exams are 60% of your final grade while the bi-weekly exams are 40% of your final grade. If you go to the nbme website you can learn more about the exams and even look at old retired questions which they have posted...

As for exams you have to take when you finish up on the island - you do not have to take the ECFMG, but you will take the Step 1 and Step 2 exams like every other US medical student. If you do end up choosing IAU, I would also suggest you look at the states where you would like to practice medicine and see what requirements they have to be able to practice in that particular state.
A list of states and what the requirements are for licensing are listed in another post in the IAU section of ValueMD.
