You should be looking at, at-least 20 fellow new students; however this is not to say other students are not to follow, as their is still some time for those accepted to make their final decisions.

See you soon

Apartments are available with or without A/C and in 1-2-or-3 Bedrooms. It all depends on what's availabe or what you are looking for. The sooner you let someone on the New Student Committee what your preferences, we'll try to work to find something that will suite your needs. Please keep in mind, coming a few days prior to the start of school, will allow you to find and settle upon the housing of your choice.

As far as preference goes, most students will choose living in apartments-either in a single or sharing with others. Nevertheless, the dorm has it's own pluses, in that you pay a flat fee in which all your utilities/fees are included, in addition to having A/C. As far as coming to the island, it's at least an option to have if you haven't lined up anything in advance.

Apartments are subject to availability - so please let your intentions as to what you prefer be known to the Dallas office staff ASAP so they can determine what is available.

The apartments have different rooms and options as well (some have A/C, some don't - some have multiple bedrooms, others are singles, etc.) I have heard some students say that staying in the dorms first semester to get your self situated and then look for private apartments on your own after first semester is a good way to go - I have personally stayed in apartments since I've been here. Most students go this route - so I'm sure that has to say something about the preferred method of housing down here.

Any questions about what you should/shouldn't bring are available in previous posts on ValueMD - hopefully you'll find all of the information you are looking for here. If not - please contact the NSC (New Student Committee) members for further information or contact the Dallas office directly.

Congrats on your acceptance and I look forward to seeing you next semester.
