Someone mentioned the school offers EBSCO research database, can someone please explain what it is and the benefits to using such resources?

EBSCOhost is a research database that is predominantly used for our Case Study sessions. The more specific database that we use under EBSCOhost is "MEDLINE with Full Text" - it is a database of over 1,200 journals that we have access to for researching our case study questions. The database has fairly good resources and is used extensively by students to supplement their classroom work. The basic benefit is that you have hundreds of medical journals within your reach, and these are also accessible when you go do your rotations back in the US - so they are not limited to your time down in the Caribbean. Most of them are full text journal entries - some are just abstracts, so sometimes you have to search a bit to find an article that might be helpful, but most of the time you can find something to suit your need. All in all, I think its a pretty good resource tool.
